The way the conduct business and the morals they have in their day-to- day life is shameful. In the short time that my two children were at Primrose East Lake I saw things that made me wonder how the doors to this day care could have remained open for so long. Within the first month and a half I spoke with the owner Lynn on 2 different occasions, trying to express my concerns and obtain the ‘peace of mind’ they claim to want every parent to have; only to be met with a defensive disposition, an arrogant attitude, and general lack and care of concern for not only my children but every other child in the school. Unfortunately it took about 3 additional months for me to find the daycare I wanted and should have originally placed my children at and then an additional 2 months for 2 spots to open up. Immediately following my conversations with Lynn, my oldest child would tell me that Ms. Jessica (who is the owner’s daughter and would sub in random classrooms) put him in time out. When I inquired about these time outs with Ms. Jessica she would deny or tell me my child did something that was completely out of character for my child to do. The situations only occurred when she was the only teacher in my child’s class. Primrose East Lake tuition policy requires a 2 week notice prior to withdrawing your child. The minute a spot opened up I took my child out, paid a weeks tuition after my child no longer attended and the self righteous owner threatened to sue me for the week that I didn’t provide tuition or notice of. I had already filed all of my complaints with DECAL. I’m assuming Lynn was notified from DECAL because she has since stopped her harassing phone calls and threatening letters. I brought my concerns to Ms. Jessica only to be spoken to in a condescending manner. She put on a front that she is concerned and cares but it’s very fake and can be seen right through. The teacher that my daughter had was friendly but didn’t seem very enthused about her job. Ms. Melissa was always friendly and seemed genuine, but not enough of an impact to keep my daughter there. I withdrew my daughter and have her at a day care that she loves and is very excited to go to every morning. From the Infant room to the Preschool room I could not have been happier! Everyone that works there makes you feel so comfortable and welcome. Every morning Ms. Jessica greets every child and every parent with the most cheerful good morning, every evening Ms. Melissa ensures you have her undivided attention as you ask questions, pay tuition, suggestions, and concerns or just want to gab with her a little. Ms. Lynn is extremely responsive and always willing to hear your suggestions, she is always conducting parent surveys to make sure everyone is happy, including her staff. And I love the suggestion box that sits up front. There have been numerous issues that I brought to the owner, Lynn's, attention. These ranged from safety issues to cleanliness of the of the infant room. Each time, Lynn reasured me she addressed the problems and that my child was well cared for and safe at her school. My son has had chronic illnesses since enrolling in this school, and I questioned the schools sanitation techniques since I believe the staff keeps cross-contiminating the babies. Yesterday, when arriving to pick my son up, the staff were using industrial strength carpet deodorizer in the infant room while the babies were on the carpet, in contact with the chemicals. The particles were so thick that the director opened the windows due the poor air quality. My son suffered due to their neglegence and required medical care. I discussed the concerns with Lynn today,and she was arrogant and defensive. I filed a report with decal and have unenrolled.
