When I first checked it out I was very plsd since they have cameras. DO NOT LET THIS COVER FOOL YOU TOO! I started my child at this daycare at 8 mnths. Everything was going great!I was dropping my daughter off 1 mrning & the owner Pat came charging through the door while I was in the classroom & said to me “I am no doctor that but that child has an ear infection, she did nothing but scream the whole day yesterday.” My response was “this is the first I’m hearng of this no one sd anythng to me yesterday and don’t you ever approach me with that tone again.” I kept my cool & did not go into mommy mode. She calmed down a bit and started again. I said“I do not like your tone.” I said I will take my daughter to the Dr. & get her chkd & I will take her home since she is not welcm here today. We left. This whole incident took place in the classrm in front of the other tots & the teacher. U have to walk past her office to get into the school she could have just asked me to come to her office she would like to tell me something.I took her to the Dr.& no ear infection, maybe she was just having a bad day. Then they started to transition her from a crib to a mat. I started getting complaints on my report she was screaming and waking the whole school because she wouldn’t stay on the mat. I scheduled a meeting with the owner Pat . She apologized for her verbal attack on me the previous week, which I was surprised. This woman is a controlling human being & things must be her way or you better get out of the way. I know she was not happy that I confronted her right back that day. We discussed the inconsistency of the sleeping pattern for my daughter. 1 day they did the crib next day the mat. She agreed it has to be done 1 way. I also stated that you can not expect a 10 mnth to just lay there when they wake up & the rest of the kids are sleeping, this they seemed appalled at.We decided to give it another go. About 1 week later all was good. Now my daughter is 14 months old &I rcvd a call at wrk I must come pick her up now becuz she has been crying and screaming all day. When I arrived it was nap time. As soon as I walked in the office the owner was there with an employee & sd “U can’t bring her back”. I was a bit taken back since I had not even rcved a hello or a 1 on 1 discussion about what was going on. I said fine however she is napping I would like to watch the video of her screaming all day. 1.5 hrs into the video there was nothing, she was playing etc. 2 hr time frame it was art time, yes with 1yr olds who are expected to sit at the table why the teacher paints on a paper for them. They are not allowed to touch the paint nor they taught how to use it, but expected to sit still. Since it was not my daughter’s turn she decided to get up & get toy and bring it to the table. The teacher took the toy away and sat her down. And naturally she carried on for all of 1 minute. When I questioned Pat on the video which shwd no indication of her screaming she had no response. Then proceeded to tell me she threw herself down outside in the play yard, I asked why? The teacher said becuz she was holding another child & my daughter wanted to be picked up too & couldn’t.Becuz of typical toddler behavior we have not been invited back to Toddlers n Tots. I know this is hard to believe because it is still shocking to me as I share this story. If your child doesn’t listen 2 directions all the time and doesn’t nap when they want them to & act like good little soldiers or a Stepford Child this may not be the daycare for you. If you can accept the owners unprofessionalism & her unwarranted advice on how to raise your child you may do well here. I am confused at the definition of daycare after my experience here. But I will ask the perspective ones I visit if my toddler is allowed to behave like a toddler. There is not doubt in my mind that she kicked my daughter out since I was targeted from the first confrontation she created. I did get refunded 4 the mnth.

This is a nice building and it is kept very clean, but the above mother was right. The owner is a fruitcake who needs to be reeled in. She is known for yelling at her staff and at parents. Both hate her.
It’s not worth the aggravation. Find another place where your children will be respected and loved by an owner who actually likes children!
My child is so much happier after leaving there.

This school needs to shut their doors or at least get a new owner. I do not know many who can tolerate the Director/Owner. Your day has come and gone. Go to a school where you and your child can be respected and treated with respect.

I have been a life-long resident of East Greenwich Twp, so I have always heard of the great reputation that Toddlers N Tots had. When it came time to enroll my daughter, they did not let me down!! The school facilities are unbelievable, with state of the art playgrounds, immaculately clean classrooms and an advanced curriculum. In my experience, the teachers have been wonderful! They really adore my daughter, provide the right amount of structure and have great communication with me. The owner, Pat Zech, takes great pride in the school that she built, and goes out of her way to constantly make improvements and allow opportunities that only a private preschool could provide. She takes great pride in the children’s accomplishments and has an incredibly big heart! My girls always love going to see her in her office to say hello and play with the toys she has out for them to enjoy! I am thrilled to see my daughter thrive in her new environment at Toddlers N Tots, and I would recommend it to everyone.

I can honestly say this is a daycare that only can focus on being clean and not about the children. Just started working there not too long ago and I an unsatisfied with the way things work around there. Just today the director yelled at me for not doing my job and threatened me by saying that if I don’t play with the children more and interact with the parents I will have to start looking for another job. Sadly I have done nothing but worked my butt off everyday in there just to keep her happy and for everyones opinion on the director, you’re exactly right. I am currently open to the first job that comes and I refuse to ever take a child or refer a child to that daycare

this center is …ok for a clean kid but if you have to deal with the owner pat, forget it she is a nut and is very nasty to her staff and the kids and the parents, the staff keeps the school clean becouse if not they are fired on the spot!pat and the assit cindy are great for each other clue less!not nice people at all and fruit cakes as the other parents had said they are.The owner and her husband are the most nasty people i ever came acrost that school had some great people working for them but no one wants to be talked to like they are nothing and thats how toddler n tots treat the staff.

I have to agree with the woman that said the center puts its focus on being clean. Pat worries about appearances only. I too work there..I’ve been there for a few years. I have had instances where I am over ratio and will have someone coming to see the school, she will bring an extra person into the room just to make it look good. I have been talked down to in front of staff and parents alike. I do not have any complaints from any parents of the children that I have in my class. I honestly care greatly for the children in the school. Pat does not know how to talk to the parents or the staff…and as for the children..she pretty much cringes if they come near her…that is if they are brave enough. She is a very tough person to work for. It will be held over your head that she gave you a job and pretty much that you need the job. She will threaten you continuously that you can look for a new job and she has plenty of applicants for your position. I did my best and the children in my class love me. I know because I talk with the parents and babysit for the children on the side. And no she doesn’t lay people off when times are slow…but you become her personal cleaning service. You will clean fans, woodwork and whatever she wants you to scrub while she has a maid service come and clean her home. The best part of the job is the staff and the children…they made every day worth being there. The director Pat needs to retire and just sit at home.
