I’ve let my 5.5 months daughter enter to this leaning center, she got sick for consecutive 5 weeks.
reason:
1. they admit all the toddlers and the babies in the same room early morning, the toddler walking and playing around in the babies room, later on, my baby will start crawling to where the toddlers walking earlier on the carpet.
– DIRTY
2. they let the babies go out door during winter, they claim babies need to go outdoor where the temp is greater than 32F and less than 90F. no exemptions.
– cannot request my baby not to go outdoor when it is too windy.

SMALL and DIRTY.
How can they have the babies and toddler all in the same room. How can they allow babies to get outside like other younger kids? their excuse is when all the teachers are outside, the babies need to be out as well. the babies need to be out twice a day even it is winter or a little bit rain outside. I ask to put sunscreen during hot summer days, they claim they have trees outside, the baby can be in shades, no need of sunscreen.

I worked at this daycare center as an assistant teacher for a while and I would not recommend this facility. Now I’m a mother of two and would never consider bringing my children there. For one, most of the teachers at the time I worked there were without certification or any appropriate degree, and some of them did not even have a proper approach to children, which is probably why I witnessed a 4-year old being kicked and babies being left to cry themselves to sleep. The little ones were changed only couple of times per day and one of them was right before they were picked up, to make a good impression on the parent. In general, during pick-up time everything had to look perfect for the parents. Also, even in the biggest cold they would take the children out, which I personally wouldn’t like done with my own children.
In addition, I witnessed several occasions of children being hurt on the playground – these incidents were carefully hidden from the parents.
Last but not least, teachers did not make sure that all children get sufficient quantity of food at feeding time. The 2-3 year olds were left to feed themselves without the necessary supervision & encouragement that some children need at that age to form better nutrition habits.
My consideration of writing this review is not to be malicious in any way, but simply to inform parents like me who want the best for their children, that this place stays far from the word “best”….I hope the editors of this website will not abstain from publishing my review, especially if they consider the website a place for free expression and truthful opinions.

My two-year old daughter used to attend this daycare. In the beginning I was happy to have found this place. But she hadn’t been there even 2 months when one of the assistant teachers informed me she saw my child kicked by one of the teachers. She advised me to take my child to another facility as my child was already branded as the “naughty” one and was obviously disciplined without being encouraged much. I haven’t seen any of this of course, and I had a hard time believing it at first, because the owners and teachers always appeared extremely courteous. In fact they went out of their way to answer all my questions and concerns, whether I phoned or went personally to see them.
But then I figured if a person working there had enough guts to call me, perhaps risking to lose their job, then I should take it seriously. I did move my child to another center and now she is doing very good there.
As I said this is second-hand information, but it seems to me that the people in this place blind you with excessive courtesy, perhaps to make up for their deficiency and incompetence.

I just wrote another review of this school – I am the anonymous one who used to work here. I am writing a second review because something strange caught my attention. Any person with some intelligence will notice that there are at least 4-5 reviews here that appear fake. Notice that there are about 4 reviews that are all written on or around August 24, all are 5 stars, all talk in the same broken English and all mention a four-year old son who is very happy at the center. Also they are very general and have too much praise without providing a single detail about the environment, curriculum, teachers… They are even written in the same words and sentences. And to top it all, one is written by “Shining Star Learning Center”… I think all of them are written by the owners whom I personally know – and they would do anything to increase their ratings. They are both Russian and speak the same broken English as these reviews…. So please, parents, try to make your own judgment about which reviews published here represent a true picture about this place, and which cannot be trusted…

this center is … I never had a child who went to this center, but when I was looking for a place for my baby, a neighbor told me what ever i do don’t go to this one. Her child went there. Her baby was injured by rolling off a changing table. They neglected to tell her what happened to her son. The next day he had a big bruise on the back of his head. A head injury to the head should require medical attention. She later found out about the accident from a worker who saw this and was told not to tell! This made me sick to my stomach. I prefer to be a stay at home mom than take a chance with my baby’s life.

I looked at this center when I was considering a switch from my old center. Here are a few things I noticed at my visit. First, the center was not secure. I walked into the wrong side at first, with the older children. I was there for several minutes in plain sight before any one noticed me. Two children walked right past me and could have been easily directed out of the center without anyone seeing. While I was standing there I witnessed several children screaming and crying. I understand that sometimes when one starts they all join in. However, no one seemed to be doing anything to comfort them and one child was being reprimanded for crying. When I was finally directed to the right side I found another unsecured door. We had to walk through the infant area to get to the toddler area space. As it was January I stopped to take off my shoes. The director looked at me as though I was some kind of freak for not wanting to track slush through the space where babies were crawling. There was a noticable lack of art work by the children. The walls were bare which allowed me to see how badly they needed to be painted. The toys were old and dirty. Some seemed to be choking hazzards. I looked around for about 5 minutes, which was sufficent because there didn’t seem to be much to look at. I would have explored a little more but the director ended my tour and brought me to the office for the hard sell. I felt like she was trying to sell me a time share. She went into great length about their accounting practices and said more than one that the account was near by and uses a computer. She didn’t have much to say about the food served other that it was catered. Needless to say I didn’t choose Shining Star.
